I saw Opeth in Milwaukee not last weekend but the weekend before. There were a couple of angry-lookin dudes walking around shirtless for most of the night, and they all seemed to end up in the pit. The band was "Scandanavian Metal" (I don't know if "death" is supposed to be in there some place), but the screaming was offset by how intense the lead singer was. After the opening metal song with growl-screaming, his first words (with funny Scandanavian accent) to the audience were "We're happy to be here. Are you happy to be here?" Not the most metal thing I've ever heard, but totally awesome. When a girl got on someone's shoulders, instead of screaming to see her tits, he just said, "Hey, lady. Take it easy," and waved. AWESOME.
Okay, I have new comics all scanned in and uploaded to the webs and everything. They'll go up Wed, Thurs, and maybe I can get another one up on Friday. Sorry for the delay. I've been living without the net on my computer. It's been... rough.
Oh, and San Antonio Rock City ruled today.
