Whoops.
I forgot that the point of my post today was supposed to be a link to www.hanzismatter.com. It's a site that pretty much had to develope at some point. The internet kind of provides for these sorts of outlets, creating room for the wealth of sites devoted to as-of-yet-untranslated-into-english manga and anime, spaces for various fanfics, or places for people to post pictures of their dogs in ridiculous outfits.

Yeah...
I did a guest strip for Evan with the Starting Point comic today. I thought it turned out alright, and I've got to say that MSPaint really is a fun medium if you can get it to work out right. Although I didn't really use the program that much, really. Also, my former coworker Kelly Rainer at The Daily Cardinal had a really funny strip yesterday. Fischer's strip today is really good, too.

For anyone who feels bad for the record industry re:file sharing (stealing/pirating), enjoy the money-throwing contest occuring between major labels and their top artists, like Linkin Park. Profits in $1.4 Billion for Warner Music, with L.Park demanding a $60 million advance on top of 50/50 split on profits? And here the MSM made it sound like the industry was going broke. Linkin Park's negotiating strategy of threatening to sell their music over the internet if they don't get their way doesn't really mesh with their monetary demands. I don't see them recouping quite that much from iTunes. Maybe if they pulled a Howard Stern and signed an exclusive deal with Napster. But could they do that without forfeiting their entire audience? It seems they should've tried to go the rap route and formed their own subsidiary label. Then they could sign other bands that have yet to put out a good album. Like Limp Bizkit. I hear nu-metal/rap-rock is gonna be the next big thing.
