Bad Scan
This comic looks like one of the ones that wasn't scanned so well in Russia. Ah, well. I would have liked to have done it myself but I didn't have a choice at the time. Right now this guy and his friend are taking batches of my comics and scanning them all (at some kind of dpi that I didn't even think existed) to have a collection, in digital form, of all the comics that I have on me from the past five years. It will be nice to have since I'm apparently too lazy to scan and organize them all myself.

Anyway, I shouldn't have let little stuff like this bother me, but I did. Gulnara talking to me like a child, explaining that you have to wash the fruit. But it's a BANANA. Washing the peel of the banana doesn't DO anything-- am I going to eat the peel? No? Okay then, why are we washing it?

The boyfriend at the time, Nate, told me that he didn't understand why this bothered me. I told him is was just the absence of logic at times that drove me up the wall. He still thought I was nuts. But then when he came to Moscow and visited he understood a little better I think. He was sitting in a clinic lobby waiting for me while a Russian washer-woman was mopping the floor. We had just come in from the snowy, dirty streets of Moscow so our shoes left little brown tracks everywhere (couldn't be helped). The woman started mopping around Nate and then stopped at where his feet were resting on the ground and looked at him expectantly. He raised his feet a few inches and she mopped the floor under them. But then when he put his feet back down, he dirtied the exact same place as she just mopped.

He said, "It didn't make ANY sense!" and I said, "I know!"
